Black-figure olpe with scene of a departing warrior: In the centre is pictured the warrior fixing his greave, while next to him is depicted his spear. A female figure is shown standing before him, on whose torso leans his shield. The scene is framed by another warrior in full military attire. The relatively early date of the vase agrees with the military practices of the time. It dates between the late 6th and the early 5th c. BC.
